Email Unsubscribe Requests

By default, broadcast emails include an unsubscribe link at the bottom to allow recipients to easily request removal from the email list.

When a recipient clicks on this link, they will be directed to a form where they can submit their request to be removed from future broadcasts.

If your email address is set as the designated 'email manager' in MMS Configuration, you will receive these unsubscribe requests. It will be your responsibility to take action by either removing the person from the database or removing them from the specific list they are on.

Alternatively, it is possible to change the unsubscribe process to a more direct method, where recipients can automatically remove themselves from the list(s) without requiring intervention from the email manager. However, the default approach is manual to ensure that you are aware when members or prospects request to be removed and can respond accordingly.

Examples:

1. A member who wants to be removed from emails may have concerns or issues with their membership that should be addressed by a staff member or board member.

2. A member may simply want to receive fewer emails and would like to adjust their email preferences.

3. A member may need to be reminded that periodic emails are sent to encourage active membership, and if they no longer wish to be active, they may consider canceling their membership.

4. A prospect who wants to be removed may have lost interest in membership and should be promptly removed from the email list.

5. If a prospect's interests have changed, they may need to be moved to a different email list that aligns better with their current needs.
