Multipost / Social Networking - User Guide
To make sharing your content easier, the MMS (Member Management System) provides a feature called Multipost. You'll find links labeled as 'multipost' or 'mpost' in various locations within the system. Multipost allows you to create a single post and share it on multiple social networks at once. Currently, you can post to Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and the MMS' internal member social network. We're constantly working on adding more social networks to this list.
To use Multipost, simply click on the provided link. You'll be taken to a page where you can enter the text for your post. In many cases, the text will already be filled in with relevant information based on where you clicked the mpost link. For example, if you clicked it from the calendar, it may pre-fill with event details, making it easy to post about your upcoming event.
Before you can send a multipost, it's important to link your Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn accounts. This means connecting your social media accounts to your member record. Once linked, you'll be able to post to these social networks whenever you use Multipost. Other users will need to link their own accounts to their member records. To link your Facebook and/or Twitter accounts, simply click on the "My Accounts" button at the top, then select the Facebook, Twitter, or LinkedIn tab. Follow the instructions provided to establish the connection.
If you want to schedule a multipost for a later time, there's an optional date and time field available. This allows you to set up a reminder for an event or choose a specific time to share your content.
Please note that connections to social networks (except for the MMS social network) are valid for 60 days. It's important to reconnect your accounts every 60 days, especially if you're scheduling posts. As of the current date (11/4/13), it's unclear whether scheduled multiposts will refresh the validity of your MMS-to-Facebook, MMS-to-Twitter, and MMS-to-LinkedIn linkage.
