RFP Help Desk - Creating Elections

To create a new election, follow these steps in the Elections module:

1. General Information (Page One)

The general information is divided into two sections: election details and voter eligibility.

Election Details:

- Election Name: Provide a friendly name for the election, such as "2017 Board President Election."

- Description: Write a brief description of the election and its purpose.

- Election Begin Date: Select the start date of the election.

- Election End Date: Choose the deadline for voting, typically at 11:59 PM.

- Election Auditors: Select one or more board members who will have access to the election results.

Voter Eligibility:

- Paid Members Only: Check this option to allow only members with no outstanding dues to vote. Use the "Restrict To" option for further restrictions.

- Restrict To: Select the membership plans whose members are eligible to vote. Leave it blank to allow all members to vote.

2. Questions (Page Two)

After adding the general information, it's time to add the actual election questions. You can edit existing questions or click "Add New Question" to create a new one. This will take you to the question wizard, where you can build your question.

Field Type:

- Multiple Choice: Use this for questions with multiple selectable options.

- Yes/No: For questions with only two possible outcomes.

- Text Field: A small text box for gathering names or numbers.

- Multiline Text: A large text box for collecting opinions.

- 1-5 Rating: Allows voters to rate on a scale of 1 to 5.

Question:

Enter your question and provide any necessary additional values based on the selected field type. Add more questions or continue until your election is complete. Click "Continue" at the bottom of the page.

Preview:

Review how the election will appear to members and make any necessary corrections. Once satisfied, click "Continue."

Final Page:

On the final page, you have the option to email the election to your members. For more information on how to email an election, refer to the help file on Election Emails.
