Setting Up Your Merchant Account

Having a merchant account in place is essential for every membership organization. It enables seamless online payments, making it convenient for non-members to join and pay through your website. Existing members can also easily renew using a credit card, and your online store and ad sales system will accept immediate payments. Furthermore, your event registration system will allow both members and the public to register and pay online. By activating a merchant account, chambers experience increased cash flow and faster payments.

We highly recommend using Fair Commerce, who will help you set up an Authorize.net account. This option offers great flexibility, especially for chambers of commerce. It supports automated monthly membership dues billing and enables electronic check payments. However, if you prefer a simpler solution, PayPal is also a viable choice, particularly for smaller chambers.
