Message Board Moderators - User Guide
Message board moderators play an important role in ensuring that messages are reviewed and approved before being publicly posted on the boards. You can assign moderators to specific boards or all boards, depending on your requirements.
Administrators with full or partial access have the ability to view and manage pending topics/posts, including approving or rejecting them, from the admin board listing page. Moderators can be assigned directly from this page as well. When someone is assigned as a moderator, they will receive a notification email whenever a new message is posted. The email will contain direct links to approve or reject the message, as well as a link to view all pending posts and topics.
Administrators will only receive a notification email under the following circumstances:
1. They are also assigned as a moderator, or
2. There is no current moderator assigned to the message board, or
3. The global configuration option in the message board settings is enabled (Automatically Give All Full and Partial Admins Moderator Permissions to All Boards)
In the case of options 2 and 3, any member in the database with full admin permissions or partial admin permissions for the message board will receive the notification email.
If a moderator is assigned to specific boards (and is not an admin), they will only have visibility and control over messages within those assigned boards. This ensures that moderators focus on the boards they are responsible for.
Moderators will also have convenient quick links to the moderation page from the main member menu and breadcrumb links at the top of the message board pages, making it easy for them to access the moderation tools.
